Salon 21: Ear Cleaning and iPad Orchestra

Salon 21 presentations are free of charge, but seating is limited, and is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Due to registrant no-shows in the past, a limited number of seats are now available for reservation by pay-what-you-can donation. There is a maximum of two tickets per registrant.

Salon registration is open approximately six weeks before each event date. Please look for an email from Soundstreams announcing that registration is open. Due to high demand, we recommend registering well in advance.

SCHEDULE
Doors open at 7:00 pm
Events start at 7:30 pm and last approximately one hour

MUSEUM & CAFÉ
We encourage you to come early to enjoy free access to the Gardiner Museum`s galleries on the night of the salon. The Gardiner Bistro also operates prior to and during the salon, where you can choose from a range of options including a full dinner or drinks and light snacks.

Salon 21 is presented in partnership with the Gardiner Museum.

Attention all curious listeners! Join us as we show you how to listen in ways you’ve never tried before, and help you to create music with a uniquely 21st century instrument: the iPad. We’ll take you through creative listening exercises pioneered by Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer, and then explore new technologies for music creation together. Come early with your iPad and become a part of the very first SoundMakers iPad Orchestra—no experience required. Whether you come to join the orchestra, or just to listen, be prepared for a fun journey through sound that will leave you hearing the world in a whole new way.
