SOUNDSTREAMS' SOCIAL ACTION THROUGH MUSIC
Music can change the world!
Soundstreams follows the great work of Maria Guinand from Venezuela who is constantly developping youth choirs in Latin America as part of her program 'Social action through music'. The Andean Youth Choral Project is a program that facilitates human development, social action, and integration of children and young people from poor backgrounds in society by means of choral music.
On Nov 5, 2008 the University of Manitoba Singers with conductor Elroy Friesen gave a concert at the Fred Victor Centre, a Community Centre for people who live in extreme poverty and are marginally housed or homeless.

COMMUNITY ARTIST OVERTURE (CAO)
Perform with us!
Community Artist Overtures feature performances by talented community musicians and ensembles prior to Soundstreams concerts.
On Oct 19, the Toronto-based male choirs Victoria Scholars and Forte rehearsed and performed successfully the Soldier's Song by Gounod with the Orphei Drängar.

"Listening to, and then singing with Orphei Drängar was a unique experience for me. What a great way for local choirs to experience singing in a large men's choir!" (Chorister from the Victoria Scholars)
WORKSHOPS
Work with the stars!
Soundstreams organizes workshops with internationally renowned artists for Community groups.
On Oct 19, 2008 three Toronto-based male choirs, The Victoria Scholars, Forte-The Toronto Men's Chorus and the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir, participated in a workshop with Robert Sund, conductor of the Orphei Drängar.
Robert Sund created a stunning intimate working atmosphere with the choirs.
