Pulitzer Prize winning composer Steve Reich returns to Toronto in a concert featuring the Canadian World Premiere of Mallet Quartet co-commissioned by Soundstreams, NEXUS and the Amadinda percussion group.
This must-see concert will also include Reich's other newest work 2 x 5, along with Reich classics including Clapping Music and Music for Pieces of Wood.
Featuring many of the world's finest percussionists including NEXUS, "the high priests of the percussion world" according to The New York Times.
Since the 1960's, Steve Reich's music has been a fixture of the contemporary musical scene and an enormous influence on generations of composers. He has been called "...America's greatest living composer.", "...the most original musical thinker of our time" and "...among the great composers of the century".
