[TORONTO, October 3, 2011] – Soundstreams opens its 2011-2012 concert series with a grand celebration of brass. Conducted by David Fallis, three of the world’s greatest ensembles - Stockholm Chamber Brass (Sweden), Simón Bolívar Brass Quintet (Venezuela) and True North Brass (Canada) – perform a majestic program on October 30, 2011 at 3pm in Koerner Hall in the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning, 273 Bloor St. West.

Master guitarist Fábio Zanon and exciting young singer Tatiana Parra bring the joyous passion and aching tenderness of the music of Brazil to the Soundsteams' concert Braziliant! Thursday, April 28 at Koerner Hall. Richly complimented by Soundstreams Choir 21, the guest artists will dazzle in an exciting program for choir, guitar and solo voice featuring works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Marlos Nobre, the World Premiere of the Soundstreams commission Symptoms of a language quasi for guitar, voice and choir by Canadian Craig Galbraith, as well as a dash of Afro-Sambas.

Soundstreams 10/11 season launches with Mexico’s Tambuco Percussion Ensemble and four Canadian singers performing three World Premieres in Canada and Mexico.
[TORONTO September 16, 2010] On October 20th, 2010 Soundstreams Canada will present a unique cross-cultural concert celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Mexican Independence at the acoustically spectacular Koerner Hall (273 Bloor Street West). The program will feature Mexico’s renowned Tambuco Percussion Ensemble and 4 stellar Canadian singers performing three new works commissioned by Soundstreams from Mexico’s Javier Alvarez , Argentinean Canadian composer Analia Llugdar and Serbian Canadian Ana Sokolovic.
