When you donate to Soundstreams you support the future of music four key ways:
1) Commissioning New Music from Canadian Composers: Soundstreams is building an endowment fund that will allow us to commission important new works. You could be a vital part of the creation of new music, supporting Canada's composers right from the very first notes!
It costs on average $9 per second to commission a new Canadian composition. You can therefore help comission 10 seconds of new music with a $90 donation, 30 seconds of new music with a $270 donation and a full minute of music with a $540 donation!
2) Fostering Canada's Best Performers: Every Soundstreams concert season features hundreds of professional musicians and performers including emerging artists. In this past season alone, Soundstreams presented over 200 of the world's leading musicians and performers, and works by more than 30 composers!
3) Encouraging Youth and Community Engagement: Your contributions allow Soundstreams to present the largest Education & Outreach Program of its kind in Canada. This program directly supports the emerging careers of the next generation of Canada's great musicians. Soundstreams engages youth and community members in the creation and development of new music and helps them to access top-quality concert performances - some for the first time in their lives!
4) Creating a Legacy of Extraordinary Canadian Music: Your generosity, and the generosity of all of our supporters, makes it possible for Soundstreams to create a legacy of great Canadian music.
