The Premiere Circle
Members of Soundstreams' Premiere Circle have made significant gifts of over $1,000 to support the future of Canadian music. Premiere Circle members are integral to Soundstreams' success in presenting concerts, festivals and education programs of the highest quality.
During its inaugral year in the 2008-09 season, the The Premiere Circle sponsored Soundstream's development and production of R. Murray Schafer's fantastic new opera The Children's Crusade, which premiered at Toronto's Luminato Festival in June 2009.
This Soundstreams' commission celebrated R. Murray Schafer's 75th birthday with one of his most ambitious projects to date. To the best of our knowledge, it is the largest single commission ever given to a Canadian composer.
