In the month since we've been back in Toronto I've compiled all the numbers, started sorting the thousands of photos and the hours of video footage from the six weeks of touring.
Over the three weeks of the Education Tour, five artists conducted 188 workshops with 3728 students in ten communities.
Over the three weeks of the Performance tour, 30 artists traveled to eight communities, performing the opera 17 times.
Check out the highlight reel from the Education tour:
This tour was momumental for the cast and crew of Pimooteewin, and as always, we are excited about what the future holds for the work!

I've been neglecting the blog! I forgot how crazy being on the road with 30 people doing two shows a day is!
Let me catch you up:
On Friday we had another great student matinee in Red Lake and then an evening performance for the community. It was an amazing audience and luckily the first of many! Following the performance, Janet Hager and Aileen Yakiwchuk hosted a wonderful opening night reception at the Red Lake Legion - thank you again ladies for all your generosity!
Saturday was a day off and we amused ourselves with various activities: walks around Red Lake, canoeing and just taking it easy!
Sunday was a travel day - 5 hours from Red Lake to Sioux Lookout. We had great weather and it was a beautiful drive!
Monday and Tuesday we performed in Sioux Lookout. Many thanks to the ladies at the Sioux Hudson Entertainment Series for their hospitality; Laurel, Carol and Alyson. The Sioux Hudson folks were also the first to give the cast a standing ovation - congrats on a wonderful show everyone!
Following Tuesday's matinee, we all took off to Thunder Bay, where we are now. Today was our evening performance in Thunder Bay, and so in hopes of drumming up some extra audience, the cast pulled off an amazing flash mob publicity stunt at the Thunder Bay Mall - check out the video below!
2010 - We love Red Lake!

Today marked our first official day of Pimooteewin performances in Red Lake. Kevin and I started the day early at the high school setting up, and the cast showed up mid morning to run a spacing rehearsal with Michael Greyeyes.
Our first performance was this afternoon for the students of Red Lake High School. They were a great audience and it was a great way to start the tour!
In addition to being an awesome audience, RLDHS has shown us the most generous hospitality we've ever experienced. The hospitality class set up a coffee table for our dress rehearsal - complete with fresh fruit! Tonight, following our outreach event at the Red Lake Heritage Museum, they made us a full meal. It was amazing and a wonderful way to kick off the tour!
Many thanks to Janet Hager, Ms. Jeffries and her hospitality class, and Principal Aileen Yakiwchuk. We can't say thank you enough for everything you've done for us!
